AfterMeet the Garland Team Behind Otto’s Garage Door
Most garage door companies send someone you’ve never met and will never see again. This one doesn’t work that way. The crew at Otto’s Garage Door lives in Garland, shops in Garland, and has kids in Garland schools. We’ve been answering our own phone since 2004, and the person who quotes your job is the person who shows up. No national call center, no subcontractors, no mystery. Just local people whose names are on the invoice and whose reputations are on the line. You’ll probably run into one of us at the hardware store on Saturday.
Our People
Otto Reinhardt – Owner
Otto founded Otto’s Garage Door in 2004 after years of watching big companies charge big money for small fixes and disappear the minute something went wrong. He still answers the phone, often at nine at night when a spring lets go and your vehicle is sealed inside. Otto quotes the job on that call and holds the number when he gets there. He can identify a failing spring by ear from across a driveway, and he’ll tell you what’s left on yours in cycles, the way you’d read tire miles. His dry humor shows up on every job. He once found a door held together with a bungee cord and a prayer, and he still brings it up. Otto is licensed, insured, and bonded, and his name is the one on the van, the invoice, and the license.
Marcus D. – Lead Technician
Marcus has been with Otto since 2012 and has seen just about every way a garage door can fail. He holds certifications across LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Genie systems, and he’s the guy who handles the high-tension spring and cable work that needs a trained hand. Marcus is the one who walks you through exactly what’s broken and why before any quote gets written. He lives over near Firewheel and coaches his son’s little league team in the spring. If Marcus tells you a door has one good year left, he means it, and he’ll tell you the cycle count to back it up.
Rosa V. – Senior Installer
Rosa joined Otto’s crew in 2016 and leads new door installations across Garland, Sachse, and Rowlett. She’s certified on Clopay, Amarr, and Wayne Dalton product lines and has a reputation for laser-straight track alignment and clean job sites. Rosa trained with Otto personally for her first two years, and she carries the same standard on every install: measure twice, order once, and leave the garage cleaner than she found it. She’s a Garland native, went to Naaman Forest High School, and her grandmother lives three blocks from the shop. When Rosa installs a door, you get her cell number if anything feels off in the first week, which it rarely does.
Tommy G. – Service Coordinator & Apprentice
Tommy is the newest member of the crew, apprenticing under Marcus since 2023. He handles parts runs, tracks inventory for the common spring sizes and opener models on the truck, and is learning the trade the way Otto insists it be learned: hands on, one door at a time, no shortcuts. Tommy grew up in Mesquite and knows every back road between here and Lake Ray Hubbard, which comes in handy on emergency calls. He’s methodical and careful, the kind of person who labels his tool drawer and puts everything back where he found it. Right now Tommy handles the smaller jobs with Marcus nearby, and he’s earning his certifications on LiftMaster and Genie openers before Otto turns him loose on his own.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this crew works under the same rule Otto wrote down on his first invoice in 2004: if it’s not done right, we make it right. That’s the 90-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s written on every job we do in Garland and across the county. It means Marcus won’t shortcut a spring replacement because he’s tired. It means Rosa won’t rush track alignment to beat the clock. It means Tommy doesn’t touch a door alone until Otto says he’s ready. Background-checked, uniformed, and trained across all eight major brands we service, the crew shares one thing that can’t be trained: we answer to the name on the van. Otto Reinhardt is a palindrome.
